The ChatGPT Shopping app writes your products into a product file in the format ChatGPT reads for its shopping answers. Poltura keeps the file up to date, and you hand its address to ChatGPT's merchant team. Shoppers who ask ChatGPT for a product can then see yours, with your price and stock, and open it on your store to buy.
The app has no page of its own. You set it up in Feeds.
Before you start
- ChatGPT takes product files only from approved stores. Apply at chatgpt.com/merchants first.
- Every product needs a name, a description, a brand, a picture and a price. Products without one are left out of the file.
- Barcodes help ChatGPT match your product to the same one elsewhere. Fill them in where you can.
Set up
Open the App Store, find ChatGPT Shopping and select Install. See App Store.
Open Feeds, select Add feed and choose ChatGPT Shopping.
Choose the market the file is for, go through the checklist, and select Create the feed.
On Feed address, copy the address and give it to your ChatGPT merchant contact once your store is approved. ChatGPT asks for the full file at least once a day.
Settings
The app has no settings of its own. The file always carries your store's name as the seller and a link to your store. Products show in ChatGPT search only: shoppers buy on your store, not inside ChatGPT.
Scope and limits
- Sends each variant as its own product, grouped under its product with its options, such as size and colour.
- Sends the regular price, and a sale price while a sale runs.
- Sends the cheapest home delivery price when the store has one.
- Does not take orders inside ChatGPT.
Troubleshooting
If a product is missing from the file, open the feed in Feeds and look at its issues: a missing brand, description, picture or price keeps a product out. If ChatGPT's merchant team reports a problem with the file, check that you gave it the latest feed address.
