Let customers sign in with their X account.
Before you start
A confidential web application with X OAuth 2.0 access and the required account permissions.
Set up
Open the App Store, install X login, and open its settings. Copy the redirect URI from the app's setup guide and add it to your X application as a callback URI. Save the client ID and secret, enable the app, then test a customer sign-in.
Settings
Use the account identifiers and credentials issued for this connection. Save secret values only in the app’s credential fields. Keep test and production account details together.
Scope and limits
The connection requests users.read, tweet.read and users.email. Your X account must allow those permissions. If no email is returned, the customer provides one. Before the first account link, the customer confirms a link sent to that address, even when X supplies it. The link must be opened in the browser where the customer started signing in; in any other browser it does nothing. Turning the app off also ends the sign-ins that came through X. Customers stay linked, so X sign-in works for them again when you turn it back on; uninstalling the app removes those links.
Troubleshooting
Check that the app is enabled, required settings are saved and the external account has the necessary access. If an operation has an uncertain outcome, check the external account before repeating it.
