Data export puts your store's data into one ZIP archive that you can download and keep. Use it before you move to another platform, for your own records, or before a locked store is deleted.
What the archive contains
| Part | What you get |
|---|---|
| Customers | Every customer with addresses, groups, consent flags and notes, as a CSV file and as JSON lines. |
| Media | Every file in your media library in its original form, with alt texts and tags. |
| Sent emails | The emails your store sent to customers, with recipient, subject, text and time. |
| Support inbox | Conversations with their messages, participants, times and attachments. |
The archive also holds a manifest.json file. It lists every file with its size and checksum, the number of records in each part and what the archive leaves out.
Products, orders, themes and invoices have their own exports on their pages. Raw analytics events are not exported. A copy of your assistant conversations is available on request from Poltura support.
Start an export
- Open Settings → Data export.
- Click Start export. You confirm it's you if your session asks for it.
- The export appears in the Archives list and shows its progress. You can leave the page; it keeps building.
You need permission to manage the store. One export runs at a time, and you can start three in 24 hours.
Download
When the status is Ready, click Download. Each archive can be downloaded for 30 days after it is ready, or until the store is deleted.
Locked stores and deletion
A private store that nobody on your team opens for 30 days is locked, and deleted 30 days after the lock. See Go live. Before a store is locked, Poltura prepares a final archive by itself, so a locked store's data can still be downloaded on this page until the deletion. Starting a paid plan unlocks the store and keeps everything.
If something goes wrong
- The export failed or stopped. Start a new export.
- Start export is not available. The store is locked, so a new archive cannot be built. The archives already prepared stay downloadable.
- You do not see Data export. Your role may not include managing the store. Ask the organization's owner. See People and roles.
