A bundle is an offer that combines several products: a kit sold at one price, an extra suggested next to a product, a set of products that go together, or a gift for buying enough of something. Bundles are in Beta.

Before you start

  • Bundles is a row in the Apps group of the sidebar. If you do not see it, switch it on under Sidebar.
  • The products in a bundle must exist, be published and have a price in the shopper's market. See Product readiness checks.
  • A ready-made kit needs its own product page. Create that product first and switch its stock tracking off. The kit's stock comes from the products inside it.

The four kinds of offer

  • Ready-made kit: a standalone product in your store that contains several items at a bundle price. Example: a keyboard and a mouse sold as one starter kit.
  • Offer an extra: suggested extras shown on a product page, which the customer can add alongside the main product. Example: a discounted case with a laptop.
  • Recommend a set: a curated set of products that complement each other. Example: a charger and a cable.
  • Buy X, get Y: the customer buys a set quantity of the main product and gets reward items. Example: buy two games and get an accessory free.

Create a bundle

The builder has four steps: Choose an offer, Add products, Set the deal and Review & save.

  1. Open Bundles and select Create Bundle.

  2. On Choose an offer, pick one of the four kinds and enter the Offer name. Use a short name shoppers will understand, such as Home Office Starter Kit. Select Continue.

  3. On Add products, choose where the offer appears. For a kit this is Product page for this kit. For the other kinds it is Show this offer on.

  4. Select Add product for each item. Choose the Product, a Variant or Any variant to let the customer choose, and the Quantity.

  5. Under How is this item added?, choose Included in the offer or Only if the shopper selects it.

  6. On Set the deal, choose what the shopper saves:

    • Percentage off: enter the Discount %.
    • Fixed total price, for kits only: enter the Bundle Price for each currency with Add currency. Missing currencies are not converted.
    • Free gift: under Gift selection choose Auto-apply all gifts or Customer picks gifts, and set Max free items.
    • For Buy X, get Y: fill in Main product: buy this many and Reward: allow up to this many.
  7. On Review & save, check the summary of the contents.

  8. Under When should shoppers see this?, choose the Keep as a draft option, which hides the offer from shoppers, Make available to shoppers or Pause this offer.

  9. Select Save bundle, or Save and make available. The offer appears in the list with its type, discount and status.

Let shoppers choose between products

Under Let shoppers choose between products you can build a mix and match offer.

  1. Select Add group and answer What should shoppers choose?, for example "Choose a color".

  2. Set Choose at least and Choose at most.

  3. Assign products to the group in the product rows, under Shopper choice.

  4. Instead of hand-picking, a group can draw its products from a Collection or a Category under Products in this group. Published products then follow the catalog automatically.

With Smart combinations set to Suggest combinations automatically, the store proposes sets built from your groups. You choose what to favor: Balance shop profit and customer price, Higher profit for the shop or Lower price for the customer. Shoppers can still change their choices.

Change how the offer looks

Under Storefront appearance on the first step you choose the Offer presentation: Follow theme settings, Compact list in the purchase area, Product cards below the product or Expandable offer that opens when clicked. You can add a Customer-facing heading, Supporting text of up to 500 characters and a Badge text.

Set product margins and bundle costs

Costs let recommendations prefer the offer that leaves you more profit, and can stop a bundle from being sold below a limit you set. The numbers are private and are never shown in your store.

  1. Open Bundles and select Product margins.

  2. Under Product and currency, choose the Product, a version under Which variants? and the Currency.

  3. Choose I know my purchase cost and enter what one item costs you excluding tax, or choose I know my profit margin and enter the usual selling price excluding tax and the margin in percent.

  4. Optionally open Optional profit limits and expiry and set Keep at least this profit (%), Minimum profit per unit and Cost valid until (optional).

  5. Under Should we block bundle sales below this profit?, choose the Recommendations only option, which never blocks a purchase, or the Yes option, which protects this item's profit.

  6. Select Save margin.

  • To set margins or costs for several versions of one product together, choose All variants under Which variants?. Up to 50 versions can be saved at once.
  • The costs of a bundle itself are on their own page, Bundle fees and limits: Extra cost for one bundle, such as packaging, Payment and other fees (%), and optional minimum profit limits. Open it from the list with Bundle costs & rules in a bundle's menu.
  • Check a discounted price calculates the price after a discount, the minimum safe price, the maximum discount and the profit before fees from your saved costs.

Preview recommendations

The preview shows which sets the store would recommend from a saved offer, with the bundle total before tax, the estimated net profit and the net margin.

  1. Save the bundle first. A draft is enough.

  2. In the bundle's builder, select Preview saved recommendations.

  3. Choose the Market and select Find a recommended set.

The preview uses the last saved version of the offer with current prices, stock and costs. If it finds nothing, check the groups, stock, market prices and your profit rules.

Good to know

  • A bundle can hold up to 100 items, and the quantity of an item can be from 1 to 100. An offer can have up to 50 choice groups.
  • A group that draws from a collection or category works best with a focused set of up to 200 products.
  • Stock is checked on the products inside the bundle, across the whole cart.
  • Recommendations only choose from the offers you saved. The store does not invent new bundles.
  • Bundle texts can be translated under Store languages in the builder, with Auto-translate. See Translations.
  • A product that is sold as a kit shows a Fixed Bundles panel on its page, and an order that contains a bundle shows a Bundle Summary. See Order details.
  • A kit's product cannot be created inside the builder, and bundles cannot be nested.

If something goes wrong

  • "Choose the product page where this offer will appear." Fill in Show this offer on or Product page for this kit on the Add products step.
  • "Each item needs a product." A product row was left empty. Choose a product or remove the row.
  • The offer does not show in the store. Check that its status is active, and that every linked product is published, priced and available in the shopper's market.
  • "No eligible set was found." in the preview. Check group membership, stock, market prices and cost and profit rules.
