AI agents and connected tools

Let AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor work in your store, choose which actions always ask you, and see or remove what is connected.

On this page

Besides Klea, you can let an AI tool that you already use, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Visual Studio Code or Codex, look things up and make changes in your store. It signs in to Poltura on your behalf, and it can only do what you allow. On Settings → AI agents you switch this on or off and decide which actions always ask you first. You also see and remove every connection there.

What a connected tool can do

  • It can read and change what you give it permission for, in the stores you choose, until the access expires.
  • It can never do more than you can. Every action is also checked against your own role.
  • It asks you before every delete and every refund. Those requests wait in Agent requests until you decide.
  • Some things it can never do, whatever you allow: manage your team, change access, buy plans or domains, or pay invoices.
  • Every change it makes is recorded with what it was and how it ended.

Connect a tool

You connect from the tool's side. In the AI tool, add the Poltura server https://api.poltura.com/mcp as a connector or MCP server. The tool opens a Poltura page in your browser.

  1. Sign in to Poltura if you are asked.

  2. Read the title, "Claude wants to access your stores" for example, and the Verified or Unverified mark. Verified means Poltura has checked who runs the app. Tools that run on your own computer show as unverified; continue only if you started them yourself.

  3. Under Stores, pick the stores it may reach. Grant access to all stores includes stores you add later.

  4. Under Permissions, switch on only what you want. Each row says what it allows and is tagged Can only see, Can change, Can delete or Personal data. Delete rows say Always asks you first.

  5. Choose how long the access lasts: 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, 1 year, a date, or no expiry. The default is 30 days.

  6. Select Allow access. If you added a permission that changes things, you are asked to confirm it's you first. Select Deny to refuse.

The page is the same for every tool. Step-by-step help for Claude, ChatGPT and Perplexity, including which plans allow it, is in Connect Poltura to Claude, ChatGPT and more. Developers find the exact steps for Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code and Codex in Add the MCP server.

If the page says the app can't be connected, the reason is on it: Poltura blocked the tool, your organization has turned off third-party apps and agents (an Owner or Administrator can turn them on again in the admin), or the request expired and you should connect again from the tool.

Switch AI agents on or off

Settings → AI agents has an Allow AI agents (MCP) switch, on by default. Turn it off to cut off every connected AI tool for this store at once. Klea is not affected. You need the permission to change store settings.

Choose what always asks you

Under Approvals, Always ask me before lists the actions that always wait for your approval, whoever asks and whichever mode Klea is in. Search for an action and add it. Actions that delete things already always ask, so they are not listed. The page shows how many actions always ask; with none picked, agents may carry out every other action here without asking.

See what agents did

  • Agent requests shows how many requests wait for you, with a link to the inbox.
  • What agents changed lists the latest changes agents made or asked to make, newest first: the change, its status, who asked and when. Reads are not listed.

See and remove connections

Connected apps and agents lists everything that can reach this store: AI tools people signed in to, installed apps and API tokens. Each row shows the app or agent, who connected it, when it was last used, which stores it reaches, when it expires and its status. Open a row to see what it can do and its recent activity in this store.

To remove one, open it, select Revoke access and confirm with Revoke. It stops working within 30 seconds and cannot be restored; whoever uses it needs new access. Only people who manage connections in your organization can see and revoke them. To change what a connection may do, use Edit in Poltura ID or Edit in API & access. You can also manage your own connections in Poltura ID under Account → Connected apps.

Products, pictures and files

A connected AI tool can create a product for you. A product it creates always has a price, so if you did not give one it asks you for it; it uses your store's default currency unless you name another. It starts as a draft with your store's usual selling settings, and it asks you for a picture.

For a picture there are two ways. If the file is on your computer, the tool asks Poltura for a short-lived upload address and sends the file from your computer to it. If you have a public web address for the picture, the tool gives Poltura that address and Poltura fetches it. In both cases the picture lands in your media library with the same checks as a file you upload yourself, and then the tool puts it on the product. An upload address works for one file only.

Limits

Calls from connected tools are rate limited per tool and per store, by plan. A tool that makes too many calls is told to wait and tries again. Some kinds of action also have a daily limit per store, shared by every connected tool and counted from the start of the store's day:

Klea is not counted here; it spends AI credits instead.
