# Trustindex

Show your Trustindex review rating as a trust badge on product pages and at checkout.

Trustindex collects the reviews your business has on review platforms and turns them into one rating. The Trustindex app reads that rating and shows it to shoppers as a trust badge in your storefront. It is for stores that already collect reviews through Trustindex. The app is available on every plan and has no page of its own in the admin. It needs only one setting, in the App Store.

## Before you start

- You have a Trustindex account (`https://www.trustindex.io`) with your review platform connected.
- You have created a review widget in Trustindex and know its widget ID. Trustindex explains how at `https://support.trustindex.io`.
- Your Trustindex subscription or trial is active. The badge is hidden when Trustindex no longer serves the widget.

## Set up Trustindex

1. Open **App Store** in the sidebar and choose **Trustindex**.

2. The app comes installed on new stores. If it is not installed, select **Install**. See [App Store](https://docs.poltura.com/en/apps/#install).

3. Under **Settings**, paste the ID of your review widget into **Widget ID**.

4. Select **Save**.

5. If the app is not on yet, select **Turn on**.

6. Open a product page in your storefront. The rating appears in the product header as stars with the score out of 5.

## Settings

- **Widget ID**: the ID of a Trustindex review widget. The store reads the rating and the address of your review page from this widget. Trust badges stay hidden until it is set.

There are no other settings.

## Where shoppers see the badges

- **Product page.** Five stars filled according to your rating, with the score out of 5. Selecting the badge opens your review page at Trustindex in a new tab.
- **Checkout.** A small badge with your rating. It also links to your review page. When no rating is available, checkout shows a plain "secure" badge instead.

The rating is always the one Trustindex reports for your widget. The store never shows a stand-in value: if the rating cannot be read, the product badge is simply left out.

## Good to know

- The app shows your overall business rating from Trustindex. It is separate from the product reviews customers write in your store, see [Reviews](https://docs.poltura.com/en/products/reviews/).
- The store reads the rating from Trustindex itself. You never type it in by hand.
- Turning the app off removes the badges. The widget ID is kept, so turning it on again brings them back. See [App Store](https://docs.poltura.com/en/apps/#switch-off).

## If something goes wrong

- **No badge appears.** Check that the app is **Active** in the App Store and that **Widget ID** is filled in. Copy the ID again from Trustindex and make sure there is no space before or after it.
- **The badge disappeared after it worked.** Your Trustindex trial or subscription has probably ended. Trustindex then stops serving the widget and the store hides the badge. Renew it at Trustindex.
- **The badge is missing now and then.** The store could not reach Trustindex in time when it built the page. It shows the badge again as soon as Trustindex answers.
- **The rating looks wrong.** The store shows what the widget reports. Check in Trustindex which review platforms the widget includes.
